“Get Spoiled in a Caribbean Island Beachfront Casita at Villa Paraiso”
Imagine yourself on a Caribbean island. You are staying in a beautiful casita four steps away from the beach, surrounded by jungle and a lush botanical garden. This is where stress fades and true relaxation manifests. Welcome to Villa Paraiso; a place for romantic getaways and special vacations.
Angie and Steve were high-end custom home builders in the US, but came to Bocas looking for the “typical Caribbean dream”. They built three beautiful casitas on the main island of Isla Colon, located just outside Bocas Town; close enough for convenience, but far enough for peace and quiet. The couple is dedicated to creating the experience that their guests are looking for: “We are here to help if needed or ready to disappear if not.”
Villa Wiona is the largest of the three and is equipped with its own private pool. Though you have your options for freshwater pool or ocean dipping as you are right on the beach, but no need to worry about salt and sand as there is an outdoor shower. You have access to snorkels and kayaks as well. When you’re not in the ocean, you can be grilling on the BBQ, playing table tennis, touring the island on bicycles or just relaxing in a hammock. You also have access to games, TV and a DVD player. Whether you’re looking to live simple island life in nature or utilize modern amenities, it’s all there for you at Villa Wiona, which interestingly enough “Wiona” means “sun” in the Gnobe Indian language. All the casitas are named after Gnobe Indian words, an indigenous tribe of Panama.
Perfect for a families is Villa Crico (“palm leaf”) and Villa Mere (“sea”); which collectively known as Las Casitas del Paraiso. Each is its own private room with a full bath, refrigerator, TV, microwave and toaster. The two casitas share a swimming pool with overstuffed sectionals and lounging chairs. There is also laundry facilities and barbeque kitchen area with full sets of pots, pans and cooking equipment. The pool area is four stairs away from the beach, where you have Adirondack chairs to lounge and take in the view of planes flying in, Carenero Island, Bastimentos Island and bustling Bocas town from a distance. People like to have bonfires on the beach and it’s a clean beach ideal for swimming, safe from boat traffic and large surf. Staying in these casitas, you also have access to the same snorkel, kayaks, bicycles, etc.
Angie and Steve love Bocas and they want you to love it too during your stay: “We love to spoil our guests,” the couple claims. They confided in me many special unexpected treats they provide for their guests, which I am not at liberty to disclose as it would ruin the surprise. What I can share is they offer honeymoon packages which include breakfast, chocolate, wine, massages and candlelit dinners on the beach. They also provide family discounts and summer specials.
