Bocas Town is the capital of Bocas del Toro Province in Panama. The colorful and full Caribbean style is what attracts a lot of people to visit. Their beautiful beaches to surf, scuba diving and snorkeling is one of their main attractions that becomes a magnet for a lot of tourists. Even though, we have a COVID 19 quarantine, Bocas is still a magical place, whether you’re into aquatic sports or into hikes, Bocas has got it all.
The locals take pride giving tours to our guests and always come together to support each other as a family. For instance, due to the COVID quarantine, some residents have formed groups to help families with food and toiletries.
Isleños Unidos is an organization of local residents on the islands who are continuing to provide bags of food every two weeks to several families in the community. Recently the volunteers dressed up as clowns, danced and sang around the neighborhoods, in order to help uplift the spirits in the community.
Matilda Grand, Executive Director of The Darklands Foundation, created the food relief program for the indigenous communities of the outer islands. Her team delivered 3,470 kilos of basic food and 1,100 gallons of water to 270 families in 11 different communities.
All of these wonderful acts of kindness, speaks highly of the tight knit community in Bocas del Toro. We have been fortunate at this time to be 100% COVID free on the islands of Bocas del Toro. This magical place is worth visiting!
