The beginning of a new year always brings tremendous things to Bocas Del Toro, Panama. It is the start of summer and high season and 2016 may just be one of the best years to travel to our spectacular tropical paradise. No matter what you are looking for in a vacation, there is something here for everyone. Travel and Leisure Magazine recently ranked the archipelago the number one destination for 2016, for many reasons.
Bocas is for adventurers, both in and out of the water. We have some of the best waves and breaks in all of the Caribbean and there is something for all levels of surfers, from beginners (Bocas has a number of surf schools) to professionals (Kelly Slater, Mick Fanning, Felipe Toledo, Clay Marzo and Matt Meola). If you prefer to be underwater, the snorkeling and diving is superb all around our islands with a variety of marine life to interact with, bright, beautiful, thriving coral reefs teeming with a variety of colorful fish. If the water is not your thing, there is the jungle. In Bocas you can glide over the canopies and feel on top of the world on an amazing zip line canopy tour. You can tour the organic cacao farms and watch how mouth watering chocolate is made, or you can wind your way through the mangroves in a dug out boat to a bat cave where you can explore the inside of the island.
Bocas is for those who seek tranquility. Just moments away from the excitement a number of fantastic beaches can be found, where tiny waves lap up on the white soft sand in their own special lullaby. The water at these beaches is perfect for kids of all ages to enjoy; they can swim, skim board and splash around! There is nothing more beautiful than to see children having fun in the sea, being one with nature.
Bocas is seductive and romantic. Bocas Del Toro has become home to a number of exclusive, secluded luxury resorts with romance in full effect. Hidden away from everything you can be pampered with massages or private yoga lessons. Away from the lights of Bocas Town the night skies go on forever with the stars the sprinkled across it. Weddings and honeymoons are becoming very popular here, and its no wonder, Bocas is for lovers.
The islands do not go to sleep when the sun goes down. Nightlife in Bocas is grand! Depending on your taste you can usually find something cool. Places have big dance floors and most every music style is represented. You can salsa your night away, or sway to the beat of reggae, or be enchanted by the smooth sounds of Caribbean boys playing instruments in the streets. And of course Bocas has food! Typical Panamanian dishes can be found everywhere, and the freshest seafood is brought in daily by local fisherman. Walking through the streets you will encounter most every type, from Indonesian food to Italian fare, from sushi to tacos, Bocas has it all. You will not go hungry here, that’s for sure.
So? What are you waiting for? Make one of your New Year’s resolutions, to travel more, and start right here in paradise! We will see you soon!
