We are already in November, Month of La Patria, and in Bocas del Toro, as well as in the rest of the country, celebrations follow each other. These are days of celebration and every Panamanian feels and shows his pride and belonging to this small but immense country.
In the different cities there are parades, concerts, events … the festive atmosphere abounds in the streets, and here in Bocas in particular, every day you can feel more the high season is approaching. Along with the festive atmosphere, more and more tourists are arriving to the island, the restaurants and shops complete the final details to give the starting shot, and the waves, which generate so much excitement, are getting better and better. Everything indicates that it will be a season equal or better than all the previous ones!
These last days, Thursday 15, and Friday November 16, have been celebrated in Colon Island the festivities relating to the official day of the province of Bocas del Toro.
Happy Birthday Bocas 115 years old!!!!
They have been and are being wonderful parties, with all the schools participating in the parades (due to many schools, the parades have been divided this year on two different days) and people enjoying the streets full of color and music.
In recent years, Bocas del Toro has been consolidating its position as a tourist destination, and step by step, thanks to the motivation and participation of a large part of the community, this development on the islands is being achieved in a sustainable manner and giving special importance to the conservation of the environment. Of course there is still a long way to go, but the bases are being fixed, so that the future of Bocas del Toro is splendid, and in this way both locals and visitors can enjoy this wonderful place for a long time. And most important, that each and every one of the creatures that inhabit here, can have their habitat for thousands of years more, without any human being can hinder their normal development and evolution.
During these months in the islands, we must keep in mind certain rules and recommendations to follow, in this way, anyone who comes to the archipelago, will quickly understand what is the way to proceed, and what things should or should not do, bring , and keep in mind for a nice, sweet and clean stay in Bocas del Toro.
Actions such as avoiding buying plastic products, using your own re-usable bottles, straws or bags, not throwing waste and debris in the streets, never forget to collect your trash and the one you see in the beaches … these are things that for many could be obvious, but that in Bocas del Toro it is necessary to remember and put in the presence of all.
With all this we want to highlight the importance of caring for the islands and show that Bocas del Toro is a place of leisure, recreation and total enjoyment in nature, where you can discover from the forest more leafy to some of the most incredible and beautiful beaches of the world, a place where you can find some of the most exotic and curious animals on the planet. A sea where you can surf some of the best waves of the continent and surrounded by people from all over the world. People that like you, come to enjoy this piece of paradise on earth. Therefore it is everyone’s responsibility to keep it and take care of it as if it were our home, and if it is already … then there is no excuse!
